Meet The Teaching Team
Mrs Liley
I was very lucky to start my very early teaching career at Welshampton Primary school in 2001. I was a newly qualified teacher and felt honoured to work in such a beautiful school. After a year I headed back to my university city of Nottingham and worked in a range of inner city primary schools. This was a valuable experience and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I was however always keen to bring up my children in my home county of Shropshire so I moved back in 2006 and applied for a part time position back at Welshampton in 2010. For several years I worked across the Key Stages enjoying the challenges that brought. As my children grew older I became a full time member of staff and still feel honoured to work in such a unique school. I was thrillled to be appointed the role of Deputy Headteacher in 2021 and support the leadership of a school I have a real passion for.
I now have two teenage children who keep me very busy with their rugby, drama and socialising as well as being a constant taxi for them both, In my free time I love being with my lovely family and great friends, walking in our idyllic countryside and exploring new countries and cities.
Miss Kerr
As a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a teacher. After finishing my studies, I pursued my passion by obtaining a three-year degree in Childhood and Youth studies at college and university. I then completed a primary PGCE, which included working in Year 5 and Year 2 classrooms during two placements. This experience provided me with a broad range of teaching skills within different key stages. After qualifying as a teacher, I was assigned a role as a Year 4/5 teacher at a school in Oswestry where I live.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family - my partner and four beautiful children. I also enjoy reading, swimming, shopping and going on long family walks. Additionally, I have a passion for dance and am a big fan of the television programme Strictly Come Dancing.
I am thrilled to be joining such a wonderful team and cannot wait to start my new journey in Beech Class!
Mrs Edge
In 2010 I volunteered at Welshampton with 'Passion for Learning' which was an initiative that encouraged children to develop their social skills. Whilst doing this I qualified as a Teaching Assistant and became a full time member of staff working initially as a 1:1 and then became a TA working across the Key Stages. I have run the 'Sunrise' club for many years as well as many after school clubs. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends; especially looking after my young grand daughter. I have a passion for travel and try to explore new places as often as I can.
