Safer Schools

We are proud of the work we do to ensure our children are kept safe. We work closely with Shropshire Council and the Police to promote the Safer Schools scheme.

‘Safer Schools’

In 2007, Welshampton CE Primary School became an accredited ‘Safer School’. Ten years later and the school has continued the Safer School process under Executive Headteacher, Mr Hodson. Recently I attended a Safer School Group meeting at the school involving staff, governors, Shropshire Council and most importantly, pupils. The Police normally attend these meetings but sent their apologies on this occasion. This Group reviewed security/safety, analysed the Safer School surveys, considered any school issues and planned for the future. The pupil contribution to the meeting was particularly excellent, giving both suggestions and solutions. It was a really productive meeting and a good reflection of the school’s hard work in maintaining the Safer School accreditation. Congratulations.
